John Dickinson calls for Separation
John Dickinson, a lesser known founding father and author, expressed his desire for the Separation of Church and State by stating, "By mixing them together, feuds, animosities and persecutions have been raised, which have deluged the World in Blood, and disgraced human Nature." This statement was not meant to disrespect religion but merely expressed the need for its separation from government.
