Entertaining on the Environment
Unlike the Earth Day protests in the late 1900’s, today, Earth Day has become more of a celebration. Concerts, such as the one depicted here, are held to raise awareness as well as to appreciate our earth. Technology is the focus of most present day environmentalists trying to explore alternate sources of energy. Advertisements promote fuel efficiency, waste reduction, and renewable resources. Advocates suggest riding your bike or planting a tree, changing your lightbulbs or starting a garden to participate in the holiday. The idea of Earth Day has caught the attention of almost 200 countries around the globe who now have joined in the festivities.
